USA - Ram Rumble Bee concept likely to enter production
The Ram Rumble Bee concept unveiled at the 2013 Woodward Dream Cruise in Michigan took its inspiration from the Super Bee muscle car of the 60s. Chrysler resurrected the name on its Ram trucks for limited production in 2003, and the Woodward car celebrates the revival's tenth anniversary.
Soon after its appearance at the show, the truck has been traveling to Chrysler dealerships in America to acquire feedback from customers and dealerships employees on whether it should be mass produced.
The Ram Rumble Bee concept is based on a 2013 Ram 1500 R/T pick-up, a two-door regular cab model, and houses a 5.7L V8 Hemi engine that belts out 395 hp and 551 Nm of torque, paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission, turning the rear wheels.
Ram’s marketing head for heavy and light duty division, Dave Sowers told Edmunds that they are listening to dealers as the special edition is production executable. He admitted that having an actual bee in the shifter, as in the concept, and the flat yellow paintwork would be a challenge on the production car.
