2013 LA Auto Show Live - Range Rover Long wheelbase
The Range Rover Long wheelbase variant has premiered at the LA Auto Show 2013. The long wheelbase variant returns to the Range Rover lineup after a 19 year hiatus.
With a wheelbase longer by 140mm, the car's rear seat passengers now get a considerable amount of extra legroom. The exterior highlights are its signature Range Rover floating roof and silhouette, but if you miss the larger rear door, you can identify the car by the 'L' badge set on the accents behind the front wheel arches.
The stretched variant is available with either bench or individual Executive Class rear seats. The second row can recline to 17 degrees, eight degrees more than the standard wheelbase model. The front seat can slide forward if the passenger requires more legroom. Also unique to the long wheelbase model are the powered door blinds and increased stowage. A panaromic sunroof comes standard.
The long wheelbase will be introduced in the market next year in Vogue, Vogue SE, Autobiography and Autobiography Black variants. A Range Rover Hybrid derivative is also planned. Land Rover targets the Chinese and American markets with this variant.
