575 PS-Range Rover Velar SVR reportedly debuting at Paris Motor Show
About a year and a half since the debut, it’s time the Range Rover Velar scored a hot SVR variant, and Land Rover is indeed working on one. Here's spy footage of the Range Rover Velar SVR testing at the Nurburgring race circuit.
Designed and engineered by Special Vehicle Operations (SVO), the performance-oriented flagship Range Rover Velar will most certainly sport a 5.0-litre V8 engine. It will likely feature the supercharged unit currently exclusive to the Range Rover Sport SVR. This engine delivers 575 PS at 6,000-6,500 rpm and 700 Nm of torque at 3,500-5,000 rpm.
The Range Rover Velar SVR will likely have a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of under 4.5 seconds and a circa-300 km/h top speed. Such figures would set new performance records at Land Rover. The SVR variant should come equipped with beefier brakes, modified bumper and air vent design for enhanced aerodynamics and cooling and SVR Sport Suspension.
Details like unique front grille, 22-inch SVR alloy wheels, red brake callipers, quad tailpipes and Carbon Fibre elements would set the styling tone for the deemed next fastest and most capable performance Land Rover.
Reports say that the Range Rover Velar SVR would make its first roar heard at the 2018 Paris Motor Show in October. Deliveries in first markets may commence towards the end of 2018, with customers in India getting their keys sometime in 2019.
