Renault Captur CVT to be launched in India in early 2019 - Report
The Renault Captur is currently available in India with a manual transmission. In early 2019, Renault will introduce a CVT option for its flagship SUV in our market, as per a report from carandbike.
The Renault Captur will get the Duster’s CVT with the 6-speed manual mode option. Like in the Duster, Renault will offer it only with the 1.5-litre H4K petrol engine. This naturally aspirated four-cylinder unit delivers a modest 106 PS at 5,600 rpm and 142 Nm at 4,000 rpm. We expect a fuel economy rating of 14-14.5 km/l.
Renault Captur diesel buyers have no choice but a 6-speed manual transmission. Note that in the Renault Duster diesel, customers get a 6-speed AMT option.
After November 2017, its first month of sales, the Renault Captur recorded its best performance with 518 units in July 2018. The Hyundai Creta, on the other hand, is clocking 9,000 units a month consistently.
The Renault Captur is available in RXE, RXL, RXT and Platine grades. Sparkle full-LED headlamps with floating indicators, Sapphire LED DRLs, satin finish skid plates, 17-inch alloy wheels and chrome exhaust pipe tip are the Renault Captur’s key exterior features. Inside, the premium SUV offers leather upholstery, cruise control, rear cooling vents, 7-inch Intelligent ULC 3.0 touchscreen infotainment system, Arkamys-tuned sound system and more.
On the safety front, Renault offers ABS with EBD and BA, dual airbags, ISOFIX child-seat mounts, rear wiper and washer and speed-sensing auto door lock as standard. Automatic headlamps, LED front fog lamps with or without cornering function, rear parking sensors, rear parking camera, ESC, HSA, rain sensing wipers and side airbags are available.
