Will be launched in India in October 2017.

The Renault Kaptur debuted in Russia in March and entered production in April. Renault has already (commercially) introduced the Kaptur in Russia and now plans to take it to other emerging markets. Test mules have been shipped from the company's Moscow plant to Brazil and India, and in the latest development, an Autos Segredos reader has spotted the Kaptur on test in Brazil.

The Renault Kaptur will be launched in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Azerbaijan later this year.

The Renault Kaptur measures 4,333 mm in length, 1,813 mm (excluding door mirrors) in width and 1,613 in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,674 mm and a ground clearance of 204 mm. It has a boot capacity of 387 litres which can be increased to 1,200 litres by folding the second-row seats. It's available with 84 kW (112.60 hp) 1.6-litre and 105 kW (140 hp) 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engines in Russia.

Following Russia, the next initial markets of the Renault Kaptur are going to be Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Azerbaijan, where the all-wheel drive crossover's deliveries will begin this year itself. These neighboring countries will source the Kaptur from the Moscow plant.

The Renault Kaptur will be available with 1.6- and 2.0-litre engines in Brazil.

The Renault Kaptur will have its Brazilian debut at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show in November and be launched in H1 2017. It will be available only with the 2.0-litre 16V flex-fuel engine from the Renault Duster, but in H2 2017, a Nissan-sourced 1.6-litre engine will also become available. Four-wheel drive system will be available only in the 2.0-litre engine model though. Both engines will be mated to a continuously variable transmission.
