Will be launched in Brazil in H1 2017.

Introduced in March this year, the Renault Kaptur became available to order in Russia last month. The next markets getting the Kaptur are Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Azerbaijan. Also in the cards, is Brazil, where a test mule was recently spied by Autos Segredos reader by Felipe Tippa.

The Renault Kaptur is based on the B0/Logan platform.

Looking merely like a big brother of the Renault Captur, the Renault Kaptur is a lot more different than what images suggest. The Renault Captur is based on the Renault Clio Mk4's platform (B-platform), whereas the Renault Kaptur is based on the Dacia Duster's B0/Logan platform. The Kaptur isn't planned to be sold in Europe.

The Renault Kaptur measures 4,333 mm in length, 1,813 mm (excluding door mirrors) in width and 1,613 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,674 mm and a ground clearance of 204 mm. It’s available with 84 kW (112.60 hp) 1.6-litre and 105 kW (140 hp) 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engines in Russia.

The Renault Kaptur will be available in Brazil with 1.6- and 2.0-litre engines by H2 2016.

According to the Brazilian publication's report, the Renault Kaptur will be launched in Brazil with the 2.0-litre 16V flex-fuel engine from the Renault Duster in H1 2017. It will have the multilink rear suspension used by the Renault Duster and the Renault Duster Oroch. In H2 2017, a Nissan-sourced 1.6-litre engine will be introduced as an option. While a continuously variable transmission will be common to both engine models, only the 2.0-litre engine model will be available with a four-wheel drive system, and that too optionally.
