IAB Report - Renault Pulse and Scala diesel variants now at prices of petrol variants
Part of Renault India's year-end stock clearance sale.
Renault has announced an interesting offer to boost sales of its slow selling Pulse and Scala. The French carmaker which is solely relying on the Duster for volumes in the Indian market will sell diesel variants of the the Pulse and Scala for the price of their respective petrol counterparts.
The Scala RxL diesel variant is now priced significantly lower at INR 8.01 lakhs (ex-showroom) as part of the limited period year-end stock clearance offer. Further, the rebadged Nissan Sunny will also be available with added benefits of 2 years of extended warranty and 4 years of free roadside assistance.
Likewise, the Pulse which is a badge engineered Nissan Micra also comes with a heavy discount. The top-end diesel RxL is priced at INR 5.19 (ex-showroom Delhi) in addition to extended warranty and free roadside assistance similar to the Scala.
Renault's best selling Duster which is feeling the heat from the new Scorpio is now available at a special price of INR 9.29 lakhs for the 85 PS RxL and 11.29 lakhs for the top-end RxL AWD (all prices are ex-showroom Delhi). The compact crossover also gets 2 years of extended warranty and 4 years of free roadside assistance benefits.

During the period between May to October 2014, the Pulse managed an average monthly sales of 129 units while the Scala managed an even worse average of 113 units.
