Royal Enfield Bullet 500 ABS launched at INR 1,86,961
The Royal Enfield Bullet 500 is the latest product from the Chennai-based two-wheeler manufacturer’s portfolio to receive the safety net of ABS. Similar to rest of the Royal Enfield products, the Bullet 500 too received a dual-channel ABS instead of the relatively affordable single-channel.

The Royal Enfield Bullet 500 ABS has been priced at INR 1,86,961 (ex-showroom Delhi), which is about INR 14,000 more expensive than the non-ABS variant that is no longer listed in the bookings section of Royal Enfield’s website. The online booking section contains the two colour options of the Bullet 500 – Black and Forest Green – along with the prices. Both colour options are available at the same price.
Specifications remain identical to the non-ABS model, and the 2019 Bullet 500 continues to use 499cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that delivers 27.2bhp of maximum power at 5,250 rpm and 41.3Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm. The engine is paired with a five-speed constant mesh gearbox. The braking setup on the Bullet 500 was updated with the addition of a rear disc in December 2018.
Previously, Royal Enfield had added the safety net of dual-channel ABS on Royal Enfield updated its Thunderbird 500X (INR 2.13 lakh*), Thunderbird 350X (INR 1.54 lakh*), Thunderbird 350 (INR 1.54 lakh*), Redditch 350 (INR 1.79 lakh*) among others. The 650 Twins came with dual-channel ABS right from the launch.
In other updates from the brand, Eicher Motors’ CEO, Siddhartha Lal has dropped hints of a new product line up that would arrive with the enforcement of the emission norms. Royal Enfield will reportedly introduce motorcycles based on four new platforms – P, J, Q and K. The new and updated products would arrive with the BS-VI compliance that is scheduled to come into effect from April 2020.

Meanwhile, during the crucial phase of BS-VI upgrade, President Rudratej Singh has departed from the company, four years after joining the brand. His responsibilities at the company involved branding, developing marketing strategies for new products (domestic and international), and aftersales.
