Worldcarfans reports that the Skoda seven-seat SUV, dubbed the Skoda Snowman (unconfirmed), will make its world debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. The report also claims that the new SUV will begin arriving in showrooms from the end of 2016.

The Skoda 'Snowman' will feature the company's latest design language, and is reported to be 4,700 mm long.

The Snowman will be based on an extended version of the MQB platform, and will be positioned above the Yeti, serving as their flagship SUV. It will feature the company's latest design language, and is reported to be 4,700 mm long.

At the moment, technical details are scarce. Being based on the MQB platform, there are a wide range of engines in VAG that are compatible with Snowman. It is likely to source its engine lineup from the Octavia and Superb sedans, which include the 2.0-liter TDI and 1.8-liter TSI engines, paired to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG.

The Snowman could launch in India as a less expensive alternative to the 2016 VW Tiguan, which is confirmed for the Indian market.

Given Skoda India's strategy of targeting the premium segment, the Snowman could launch in India as a less expensive alternative to its German cousin, the 2016 VW Tiguan, which is confirmed for the Indian market.
