IAB Report - Ssangyong showcases Rexton, Rodius, Korando at the 2014 Colombo Motor Show
Micro Cars Ltd., the official distributor of Ssangyong in Sri Lanka showcased the Rodius, Rexton and Korando at the 2014 Colombo Motor Show last week. All SUVs are assembled in Sri Lanka by Micro Cars.
Ssangyong Rodius
The full-sized Ssangyong Rodius is available in the seven-seater layout in the country. The people carrier measures 5,130 mm in length, 1,915 mm in width, 1,815 mm in height and has a massive wheelbase of 3,000 mm.
Power is courtesy of a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine which puts out 155 PS (152.87 bhp) at 3,400-4,000 rpm and a peak torque of 360 Nm at 1,500-2,800 rpm, paired to a 5-speed automatic transmission. Only the rear-wheel drive version is sold.
The Rodius is priced at LKR 6.5 million (around INR 30.43 lakhs).
Ssangyong Rexton
The Ssangyong Rexton five-seater is 4,755 mm long, 1,900 mm wide, 1,840 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,835 mm. The car comes with a wide array of features.
Power though comes from the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine and 5-speed AT combo as the Rodius with identical outputs. The car gets a part-time 4WD.
The Rexton retails at LKR 6.4 million (around INR 29.96 lakhs).
Ssangyong Korando
The Korando compact crossover is the most affordable Ssangyong model in the country. The crossover is 4,410 mm long, 1,830 mm wide, 1,675 mm long and has a wheelbase of 2,650 mm.
The 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine is tuned to produce 175 PS (172.6 bhp) at 4,000 rpm and 360 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm. The 6-speed automatic tiptronic transmission is available in both 2WD and AWD configurations.
