2013 Tokyo Motor Show Live - Subaru LEVORG Concept
The Subaru LEVORG Concept is unveiled at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show. Though Subaru is referring to this as a 'prototype', the LEVORG that you see here is nearly production ready.
Power comes from a Horizontally-Opposed direct injection turbo "DIT" powertrain, which is available in two displacements - 1.6-liter and 2.0-liter. While the smaller displacement engine produces 170 PS and 250 Nm, the larger engine is capable of 300 PS and 400 Nm.
In the Japanese JCO8 driving cycle, these engines return 17.4 km/l and 13.2 km/l respectively. Transmission duties are handled by a CVT gearbox, marketed by Subaru as 'Lineatronic'. Both engine specs come with AWD as standard.
The LEVORG measures at 4,690 mm × 1,780 mm × 1,485 mm (Length x Width x Height) and has a wheelbase spanning 2,650 mm. While the 1.6-liter spec weighs 1,540 kg, the more powerful variant is heavier at 1,570 kg.
The LEVORG will be available in four variants. The top-end trims get features such as Pre-Collision Braking Control, Adaptive Cruise Control (with Brake Light Recognition) and an Active Lane Keeping System.
The sports tourer will commence production in the spring of 2014, while pre-orders can be placed from January 4, 2014.
