Suzuki Baleno with a sporty body-kit - Rendering
Not confirmed by Suzuki.
Although Suzuki hasn't confirmed a Suzuki Baleno Sport, it could be a model worth considering, so as to rival the premium versions of the VW Polo, Honda Jazz and the Ford Fiesta.
Graphic artist Theophilus Chin has posted a rendering of the Suzuki Baleno featuring sporty touches like large alloy rims, side sill extensions, re-worked lower fascia, contrast satin chrome ORVM caps, a bold chrome accent running across the side profile, roof spoiler and dual exhaust tips.
Given that the Suzuki Baleno Sport is nothing but an idea, there are no details on the powertrain. Its smaller brother, the Suzuki Swift, is also available in the 'Sport' variant, which packs a 136 PS 1.6-liter petrol engine paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Another engine worthy of contention is the just-launched 1.4-liter Boosterjet engine from the China-spec Suzuki S-Cross.
The regular Suzuki Baleno is confirmed to feature a 1.0-liter Boosterjet, a 1.2-liter Dualjet engine and a 1.2 Dualjet engine with the SHVS system. It will offer a 5-speed manual as standard, while an automatic option will be available in higher variants. Sales of the 2016 Suzuki Baleno will commence in Europe in Spring of 2016, and in India starting this festival season.
