Suzuki GSX-R1000R & Suzuki Hayabusa price cut confirmed

Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL) announced the price cut for its big bike range- the Suzuki GSX-R1000R and the Suzuki Hayabusa in wake of the new policy announced by the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) on custom duties for completely knocked down (CKD) and completely build units (CBU) units in India.

Suzuki launched the 2018 Hayabusa in January; and showcased it at the Auto Expo in February, this year.

The Japanese brand’s CBU offering, the Suzuki GSX-R1000R is now available for INR 19,80,000, which is a INR 2.2 lakhs reduction over the older pricing. The Suzuki Hayabusa, which is a CKD product has witnessed a reduction of INR 28,000 at INR 13,59,000. Both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. Commenting on the revised prices Mr. Sajeev Rajashekharan, EVP, SMIPL said:

Considering our focus on offering a premium range of products to our Indian customers, both the CKDs and CBUs form a key component of our existing and upcoming motorcycle line-up. Suzuki Motorcycles India plans to pass on the benefits of government’s decision to reduce the customs duty on CBU and CKD units, to its customers. Conducive policies will encourage manufacturers like us to bring more products and support the emerging big-bike culture in India.

The Japanese brand also showcased its top-of-the-line track bike, the GSX-R1000R at the Expo.

Suzuki also announced that it will launch the Suzuki GSX-S750 ‘soon’. The GSX-S750 will be Suzuki Motorcycle India’s second ‘Made-in-India’ big bike after the Hayabusa. Expect the launch to happen in the coming weeks. The pricing is likely to be competitive as it is a CKD product; and the bike will rival Kawasaki Z900 and Ducati Monster 797.
