Suzuki Hustler J Style to launch on January 9 - Japan
Hustler was recently chosen as be the RJC Car of the Year in Japan.
Suzuki launched a J Style special edition version of the Wagon R Stingray in Japan last month. Now as the new year begins, the car maker is bringing the special edition treatment to Japan's RJC Car of the year, the Hustler. The vehicle will be launched on January 9, which is when the 2015 Tokyo Auto Salon begins.
The Hustler J Style will get exterior updates like a two-tone body colour with a white roof, LED fog lamps, white bumper applique, and a well-suited 'RJC Car of the Year' emblem at the rear. 15-inch White steel wheels, and J Style stickers will also be included.
On the inside, the car gets heated seats up front, steering mounted audio controls, and optional reverse parking camera. The dashboard colour can be coordinated with the exterior paint.
The vehicle is powered by a 660 cc VVT-equipped (Variable Valve Timing) petrol engine that makes 51 hp of maximum power and 63 Nm of maximum torque. It's available in both 2WD (front-wheel drive) and 4WD (all-wheel drive) versions, and is priced at 1,479,600 Yen (INR 7.77 lakhs) for the former and 1,605,960 Yen (INR 8.44 lakhs) for the 4WD variant. The vehicle gets a CVT automatic gearbox.
Suzuki had earlier announced its plans to showcase 'Hustler road bike style' and 'Hustler outdoor style' concepts at the Tokyo Auto Salon. But unlike the two, Hustler J Style will be available as a production version. At the show, there will also be the Alto Turbo RS Concept (based on the recently launched JDM-spec Alto but with a turbocharged engine) which will eventually be turned into Alto Turbo RS later this year.
