Custom Suzuki Jimny Sierra - BIMS 2019 Live
The fourth-gen Suzuki Jimny has been displayed at the ongoing Bangkok International Motor Show in its stock as well as in a mildly customised format. Local media reports that the Suzuki Jimny Sierra, which is the export version of the fourth-gen off-roader is being evaluated for sale in the Thai car market.
The custom Suzuki Jimny that has been showcased at the BIMS 2019 features a handful of minor updates, which lend it a distinctive look. Up front, it ditches the multi-slat grille for a wireless unit that sports bold branding. It even gets a chunky faux skid plate. In the side profile, it gets window visors and chrome covers for the ORVM. The side skirts feature silver cladding, while the roof features a luggage career. The rear-end remains totally unchanged, save for the advent of a custom spare wheel cover. Rounding off the exterior updates is a set of bigger mud flaps.
On the inside, the custom Suzuki Jimny totally mimics the stock model. The highlight of the cabin is the centrally-positioned Bosch-sourced SmartPlay infotainment unit that supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Sat-nav. Standard safety features include dual SRS front airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist system (BAS) and ISOFIX child seat mounts. Moreover, the Jimny Sierra even comes equipped with electronic stability control (ESP), and an ALLGRIP PRO part-time 4WD system.
Powering the Jimny Sierra is the K15B 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 102 PS at 6,000 rpm and 130 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. This engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission.
