Will be launched at GIIAS 2016, reportedly.

A new report from AutonetMagz indicates that the Suzuki S-Cross will be launched in Indonesia at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show 2016 (GIIAS 2016) this month.

The Suzuki S-Cross for Indonesia will be the pre-facelift model which is presently sold in India.

The Indonesian-spec Suzuki S-Cross won't be powered by the K14B engine of the Swift, Ertiga and Ciaz. Instead, the M15A petrol engine will be seen under the hood of the crossover, the report states. The 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine which was offered in the previous generation model (Suzuki SX4) will produce 109 hp and 138 Nm of torque on the Indonesian-spec Suzuki S-Cross, reports the publication.

Suzuki recently gave the S-Cross a facelift, but that's not the model that will be launched in Indonesia. Instead, Indonesia will get the outgoing, pre-facelift model. The facelifted Suzuki S-Cross will be launched in Europe first, at the end of September 2016.

The report suggests that the Indonesian-spec Suzuki S-Cross's key features will include HID projector headlights, engine start-stop button, paddle shifters, cruise controls, 16-inch wheels, multifunction steering wheel, automatic climate control, six speakers, parking sensors, rain sensor, dual airbags, ABS and EBD.

According to a report, Maruti Suzuki will launch the S-Cross with a 1.5-liter petrol engine in a bid to widen the appeal of the crossover. Narrowing price gap between petrol and diesel, and negative sentiments towards diesel-powered vehicles has seen a shift in sales towards petrol-powered cars in India.
