Suzuki Spacia Concept, Suzuki Spacia Custom Concept - 2017 Tokyo Motor Show Live
Suzuki is holding the world premiere of a slew of kei cars at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. Two among these are the Suzuki Spacia Concept and Suzuki Spacia Custom Concept.
The Suzuki Spacia Concept previews the next-gen Suzuki Spacia. The first generation Suzuki Spacia arrived in early 2013. The concept in Tokyo previews the second generation model that will likely arrive sometime next year. The concept indicates that the next-gen Spacia will feature a more modern exterior and interior design while having dimensions nearly the same as that of the current model.
The Suzuki Spacia Concept is 3,395 mm long, 1,475 mm wide and 1,800 mm tall. It has the same length and width as the current model, but it is 65 mm (2WD)/60 mm (4WD) taller. Under the hood, there’s a 0.66-litre VVT in-line 3 cylinder engine. Suzuki has equipped the concept car with a mild-hybrid system for greater efficiency.
The Suzuki Spacia Custom Concept is more a stylish variant of those above height-class mini wagon. While the Spacia Custom appeals with its cuteness, the Spacia Custom boasts its high levels of aggression with a unique front-end. It features sharp, rectangular headlights, a large trapezoidal radiator grille, distinctive bumper with C-shaped daytime running lights and fog lights. On the sides, two-tone alloy wheels lend a sportier look, while the ORVMs are either in black or the body colour. At the rear, the Custom variant has clear-lens tail lamps. Needless to say, Suzuki has fitted an aero kit consisting of underbody spoilers and a roof spoiler. The roof is in either black or the body colour, and there are roof rails.
The Suzuki Spacia Custom Concept is 3,395 mm long, 1,475 mm wide and 1,785 mm tall. Under the hood, there lies a 0.66-litre turbocharged in-line 3 cylinder engine. The Suzuki Spacia Concept’s sporty variant also has a mild-hybrid system. Its production version will likely replace the Suzuki Spacia Custom Z.
