Suzuki YRA (production-spec Suzuki iK-2) snapped in Europe - Spied
Will reportedly be manufactured in India and exported to Europe.
Suzuki is currently testing the forthcoming Suzuki YRA hatchback in Europe at the same time as its Indian counterpart, the Maruti YRA, is in its development cycle. Courtesy of IAB reader Simoclubber, here is a spyshot of the pre-production test prototype.
The production version of the Suzuki iK-2 concept from the 2015 Geneva Motor Show sits on a new platform that, Suzuki says, has improved “fuel efficiency, safety, handling, stability, and NVH performance across the board.” The dimensions could be close to the concept's 4023 mm length, 1920 mm width, 1450 mm height and its wheelbase of 2520 mm.
The interior will come equipped with a 2-DIN audio system in lower trims and a Smart touchscreen infotainment display for the range-topping trim, cruise control, keyless entry with a start/stop button, power folding mirrors and at least 2 airbags as standard, in addition to ABS with EBD.
The production-spec Suzuki iK-2 will pack a 1.0-liter three-cylinder direct-injection ‘Boosterjet’ engine for improved fuel efficiency. Other likely additions include a 1.25-litre K12B petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engines from the Swift. Suzuki has confirmed that an SHVS mild hybrid system would also be offered for the YRA.

The company has announced that the Suzuki iK-2 will be launched in early 2016 in Europe. Ahead of its European launch, the design and details on Suzuki's premium hatchback will be revealed via the Indian-spec Maruti YRA, which is expected to launch in the second half of this calendar year.
