Tata Buzzard (7-seat Tata Harrier) spied up close
Tata Motors will be launching three new models in the coming months, and the Buzzard will be one of them. As the company continues extensively testing the same on the public roads, a test mule has been spied yet again.
For the uninitiated, the Tata Buzzard is nothing but an extended, 7-seat version of the Tata Harrier. It was also introduced at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, and rumour has it that its name will be changed to Tata Cassini at launch. It looks different from the Tata Harrier from behind the C-pillar. The rear section has been obviously altered with the use of a more upright tailgate and tweaked tail lamp design. To accommodate more space and an extra row of seats at the back, the company has stretched the rear overhang instead of altering the wheelbase (2,741 mm). Also, the visible stepped roof makes space for extra headroom for the third-row passengers.
The Tata Buzzard measures 4,661 mm (+63 mm) in length, 1,894 mm in width and 1,786 mm (+80 mm) in height. To go along with the bigger dimensions, it will sport bigger, 18-inch wheels, although the Tata Harrier's 17-inch alloy wheels will also be available, as seen in these spy shots. It will employ a peppier version of the 2.0-litre Kryotec turbo-diesel engine of the five-seater. This engine has been named 'Kryotech170' based on its power output of 170 PS, and its torque output will be the same - 350 Nm. It will compliant with the upcoming BS-VI emission norms right from the word go. 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic will be the transmission choices available with this engine. The automatic unit will be sourced from Hyundai.

The Tata Buzzard (Cassini) will likely be priced starting from around INR 15 lakh (ex-showroom) and go on sale by end-2019.
