Tata Buzzard spied yet again ahead of H2 2019 launch

The Tata Buzzard, which will reportedly be called Tata Cassini in India, has been spied on test yet again. The Tata Harrier's 7-seat version with a different name will be launched in the domestic market in the fourth quarter of the year.

The Tata Buzzard (Tata Cassini) measures 4,661 mm in length, 1,894 mm in width and 1,786 mm in height, and it has a 2,741 mm wheelbase.

As seen in the pictures, the Tata Buzzard is similar to the Tata Harrier till the C-pillar, and then it starts looking a little different. That's because it has a bigger quarter glass and a more upright tailgate. Moreover, the rear overhang has been stretched to accommodate an extra row of seats. The tail lamps have been designed a little differently but there's no denying that they have originated from those of the Tata Harrier. The wheelbase is the same - 2,741 mm. The Tata Harrier's 7-seat version measures 4,661 mm in length (+63 mm), 1,894 mm in width and 1,786 mm (+80 mm) in height. It will likely be available with bigger, 18-inch alloy wheels.

The Tata Buzzard sports a more powerful version of the Tata Harrier's 2.0-litre Kryotec turbo-diesel engine, and this version will be called 'Kryotec170'. The more potent MultiJet II engine made by FCA will likely deliver a maximum power output of 170 PS and a peak torque of 350 Nm. What we know for sure is that it will be BS-VI compliant from the get-go. Transmission choices will include 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic. The latter, a conventional torque convertor unit, will be made by Hyundai.

The Tata Buzzard could be priced from around INR 15 lakh (ex-showroom).
