Just weeks after the third-gen BMW X6' official revealing this month, it has landed in India for testing, spy shots posted by Rushlane have revealed. The Indian launch of the all-new SUV-coupe is unlikely to take place this year.

The third-gen BMW X6 now makes use of the BMW CLAR architecture, just like the latest BMW X5.

With the generation change, the BMW X6 now makes use of the BMW CLAR architecture just like its more mainstream sibling, the X5. The all-new BMW X6 features slimmer headlights, bigger kidney grille that can be optionally had with illumination, slimmer tail lamps. The proportions are very much the same as in the past two generations. The length and width have increased by 26 mm (to 4,935 mm) and 15 mm (to 2,004 mm) respectively, while the height has reduced by 6 mm (to 1,696 mm). These changes have led to a more powerful appearance. The 44 mm wider front track (1,684 mm) also contributes to the same. The wheelbase has increased by 42 mm. All in all, there's no denying that the Sports Activity Coupe looks sportier than before.

On the inside, the 2019 BMW X6 features BMW Live Cockpit Professional that combines a 12.3-inch high-res instrument cluster with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Other highlights include a four-zone climate control system, a new panoramic glass roof, Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System including a seven-channel amplifier with 1,500-watt output and 20 speakers, thermoelectric cup holders and an interior fragrancing package. There's also a Parking Assistant which automatically makes the necessary steering inputs, acceleration and braking required for parking into tight spaces.

Four engine variants will be available internationally initially, as listed below:

  • xDdrive30d - 3.0-litre diesel engine (265 PS/620 Nm), 8-speed automatic transmission, AWD
  • xDrive40i - 3.0-litre petrol engine (340 PS/450 Nm), 8-speed automatic transmission, AWD
  • M50d - 3.0-litre diesel engine (400 PS/760 Nm), 8-speed automatic transmission, AWD
  • M50i - 4.4-litre petrol engine (530 PS/750 Nm), 8-speed automatic transmission and AWD

The 2019 BMW X6 will have its world premiere at IAA 2019 in September.
