IAB Report - Toyota Etios Cross display vehicles arrive at showrooms
Dealerships of Toyota Kirloskar Motor have started displaying the Toyota Etios Cross, ahead of a market launch announced to take place in May this year.
The Etios Cross sports a few visual changes to make it look more rugged. These changes include new front and rear bumpers with plastic cladding, roof rails, diamond-cut alloy wheels and silver nudge guards.
Mechanically though, the Cross is identical to any other Etios Liva sold in the market. Toyota will offer the Cross with three engine options. Starting the range is a 1.2-liter four-cylinder petrol producing 80 PS at 5,600 rpm and 104 Nm of torque at 3,100 rpm.
A higher-displacement 1.5-liter petrol (taken from the Etios Liva TRD Sportivo) produces 90 PS at 5,600 rpm and 132 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm, while the diesel variant is powered by a 1.4-liter motor developing 68 PS at 3,800 rpm and 170 Nm of torque between 1,800-2,400 rpm. All engines are offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The Etios Cross is available to pre-book, with 8 body color options. The Cross will compete with the VW Cross Polo and the upcoming Fiat Avventura, which will launch by the end of this year.
