Toyota Hiace spotted testing in India, launches in mid-2015 - Spied
The 10-seater van will see India through the CBU route.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor had confirmed in January that the Toyota Hiace van will be launched in India in the second half of the year.
Now Motor Octane has carried spyshots of the Hiace testing on the Pune-Bangalore highway.
The people mover will be launched with a 3-litre diesel engine that's currently doing duty in the Fortuner, but is calibrated to produce a lower 136 PS and 300 Nm of torque in the Hiace, and comes mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission. The 10-seater will be priced in the region of INR 40-45 lakh, though this is unconfirmed.
While the van will be a CBU during the launch, it may be assembled in India within 2 years, and component vendors have already been notified on this matter.

The Hiace will have to be registered as a commercial vehicle, and will target tour operators. The model will sport features like power closing sliding doors, reverse parking camera, and a 6-speaker audio system, while power steering, power windows, engine immobiliser, ABS, and dual front airbags complete the standard equipment list on the Hiace.
