Triumph Street Scrambler launched in India at INR 8.10 lakhs

Triumph India has launched the Triumph Street Scrambler at an ex-showroom pan India price of INR 8.10 lakhs. The bike is sold via the CKD route.

The Street Scrambler gets a host of off-road friendly features. The bike gets 19-inch front and a 17-inch rear spoke wheels shod with Metzeler Tourance dual purpose tyres.

The Street Scrambler is an off-road centric take on Triumph’s modern classic, the Street Twin. The bike gets a new Scrambler chassis, longer front and rear shocks, and wider handlebars. The bike employs a 900 cc parallel twin ‘High Torque’ engine with liquid cooling. It punches out 55 PS of power at 6,000 rpm and 80 Nm of torque at 2,850 rpm. The powerplant pairs with a 5-speed gearbox.

Other off-road friendly features include a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels; Metzeler Tourance dual purpose tyres on both ends; interchangeable pillion seat and aluminium rear rack as standard; removable pillion pegs and hangers; steel high-grip ‘Bear Trap’ adventure style front foot pegs; all terrain style bash plate; Aluminium headlight bracket and black headlight bezel; and unique detailed dual compound rubber knee pads for enhanced grip.

Optional accessories like Vance and Hince exhaust, FOX rear suspension are available for the bike.

Apart from these, the bike features ribbed Alcantara-style twin seat with contrast stitching and Triumph embossed logo; competition-inspired number board side panel; new front mudguard mounts to suit the larger wheel, and new rear view mirrors. The Street Scrambler comes in three colours - Jet Black, Matt Khaki Green; and Korosi Red and Frozen Silver with jet-black hand painted coach lining and unique tank decals.

KYB 41 mm front forks, and KYB twin rear shocks with adjustable preload take care of the suspension duty. Both offer 120 mm of travel. Triumph has updated the brakes with the new 2-piston sliding axial Nissin calliper with machined branding. The front end uses a 310 mm disc, while the rear gets a 255 mm disc with Nissin 2-piston calliper. ABS is switchable, and so is the traction control. The bike is blessed with ride-by-wire and an engine immobiliser as well.

The bike gets over 150 accessories to improve the looks and for better off-road ability. Notable ones include Vance and Hines slip-on exhaust, rear piggyback FOX suspension, heated grips, and an auxiliary power socket.

The Triumph Street Scrambler is more expensive than the Street Twin by INR 92,500.
