Triumph Tiger XRx and XCx Indian launch on March 12 - IAB Report

Were unveiled last month at the India Bike Week.

Triumph India today confirmed that it would be launching the Tiger XRx and Tiger XCx motorcycles on March 12. Both motorcycles were unveiled at the 2015 India Bike Week and made their world debut at the EICMA fair in November 2014.

While both the Triumph XRx and XCx models have the same liquid-cooled, 12-valve, DOHC, in-line 3-cylinder 800 cc engine that produces 93.7 bhp of power and 79 Nm of torque, and is mated to a six-speed gearbox, the differences are in their chassis and dynamics setup. The XRx is tuned for road use and light off-roading, while the XCx with its spoke wheels offers extra off-roading capabilities.

The XCx features larger spoke wheels and WP suspensions, making it better tuned for off-roading

The XRx which is more in tune with road usage, featuring a standard-mounted front mudguard with a 19-inch cast alloy front wheel, while the rear gets a 17-inch alloy.

In comparison, the XCx is a more off-road oriented variant, featuring 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked wheels (which can take more beating and can be easily repaired, in case of damage), a higher dual-sport type front mudguard, fully adjustable suspensions, radiator guard to protect against rocks and gravel, sump guard and hazard lights.

The XCx also adds WP suspensions as standard for better control and off-road use.

Both the XRx and XCx feature a slew of additional features such as riding modes over the standard Tiger 800

Both the XRx and XCx also add many new features over the regular XR and XC models as they feature a more advanced trip computer, three configurable riding modes as well as Road and Off-Road riding modes, Auto-Cancel Indicators, hand guards, centre stand, adjustable screen, and an additional 12V power socket apart from the standard one.
