TVS Akula (TVS Apache 300) shows its side profile in new spyshot

As TVS Motor continues with its efforts on readying the TVS Akula 310 for commercial launch, its test mule has been spied testing yet again in India. The prototype was spotted by Kiran Karuthedath.

The TVS Apache RTR 300 will be based on the same platform as the BMW G310R.

The TVS Akula 310 concept was unveiled at Auto Expo 2016 and was confirmed earlier this month by Mr. K.N. Radhakrishnan, President and CEO, TVS Motor, for a launch this financial year (FY 2016-17). Its production version will reportedly be named TVS Apache RTR 300.

The TVS Apache RTR 300 will be based on the same platform as the BMW G310R and will be the company's first fully-faired series production motorcycle. Also shared with the BMW G310R, will be the 313 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. This motor has been tuned to produce 34 hp (25 kW) at 9,500 rpm and 21 lb.-ft. (28 Nm) of torque at 7,500 rpm in the BMW offering but may have different specifications for the TVS Apache RTR 300. It would be paired to a 6-speed transmission.

The TVS Apache RTR 300 will sport a 313 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine.

The TVS Akula 300 will reportedly be priced such that it competes with the KTM RC200. This means TVS Motor could place its upcoming flagship motorcycle in the INR 1.50-1.75 lakh price bracket.
