TVS CFO confirms new motorcycles and scooters for next fiscal - Report
TVS Motor Company has registered more than 10 percent profit in Q3 FY2017. To maintain the strong momentum, TVS is set to launch several new products, revealed their CFO Mr SG Murali in an interview to Business Standard. These would include motorcycles and scooters, he said.
While the CFO did not speak on the products in this interaction, in November he stated that production TVS Akula 310, showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo as a concept, would launch by Feb or March 2017. Paying tribute to their racing team, the bike, in its production form will be TVS’ first fully faired machine. The motorcycle was spied on Indian roads in numerous occasions.
Speaking of scooters, TVS may launch a 125 cc scooter. Buoyed by the success of the TVS Jupiter, the bigger milled scooter may trace its lineage to the TVS Graphite concept showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. While the concept model had several premium features like AMT and fully digital instrumentation, not all of these may meet production.
On the BMW Motorrad front, post the BMW G 310R, the Germans will be launching the BMW G 310GS which is an adventure tourer based on the naked roadster. This one though will be launched only in late 2017.
Besides the all-new products, TVS could bring special editions and variants of its existing models as it did last year.
