Upcoming Ducati motorcycles set to be unveiled at Ducati World Premiere 2020

The iconic Italian motorcycle maker Ducati will be unveiling its 2020 model line-up at the Ducati World Premiere 2020. This annual event is slated to wow motorcycling enthusiasts around the world on 30 October 2019, bang in the middle of Intermot and EICMA and just a day ahead of Tokyo Motor Show. Last year, Ducati unveiled 12 new motorcycles of which 3 were brand new additions. This year too, thanks to the power of the internet and social media, several leaks have confirmed several new and interesting motorcycles. Here are 5 new motorcycles we expect to be unveiled on 23 October at Ducati World Premier 2020:

Ducati Streetfighter V4

The upcoming Ducati Streetfighter V4 will be based on the prototype pictured here.

The biggest unveiling of the evening will be the Ducati Streetfighter V4 based on the Ducati Panigale V4. This road-going motorcycle was seen in prototype form at this year’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Unlike the prototype, the production version may not get the wings. However, the Italians may introduce some form of a winglet design in the S version of the Ducati Streetfighter V4.

Instead of the Golden coloured Ohlins, the production version might get Showa Big Piston front fork. The rear suspension in all probability will be a Sachs unit. Also, instead of the Stylema, the Ducati Streetfighter V4 will be fitted with Brembo M50 callipers. The magic though will be the same 1,103 cc V4 engine from the Panigale V4 S. In its present tune, the engine can produce 214 PS of power and 124 Nm of torque. That will make it the most powerful naked motorcycle!

The upcoming Ducati Streetfighter V4 will get the usual plethora of riding aids, including riding mode selector, traction control, wheelie control and slide control. Expect the price tag to hover above INR 20 lakh (ex-showroom) mark.

Ducati Multistrada V4

The Ducati Multistrada V4 may be overkill as an adventure bike but will be a great highway mile-muncher.

If there is any adventure motorcycle brand which is way more souped up that it needs to be, it is the Ducati Multistrada. And the family is going to get even more loaded with the new Ducati Multistrada V4. The bike was spotted out on test runs near Ducati’s Bologna facility earlier this year.

Design elements will be similar to the Ducati Multistrada 1260. However, it will get a brand-new exhaust to accommodate the two extra cylinders. Output figures will be somewhere near the 200 PS range. Electronic riding aids will also be top-notch as seen earlier. Also, it will get Ducati’s radar-based advanced Rider Assistance Systems which help the rider judge traffic and blind spots.

The Ducati Multistrada V4 can be expected to be in more focused for a sporty ride than taking the road not taken. Just like the BMW S1000XR! Besides that, the new radar-based safety technology may also be introduced in the Ducati Multistrada 1260. Expect the Ducati Multistrada V4 to be priced in the range of INR 22-24 lakh.

New Ducati Panigale 959 (facelift)

Unlike the present Ducati Panigale 959, the facelifted model will bear a single-sided swingarm.

The Panigale family will not be ignored this season. In fact, we expect the baby Panigale to get an update to gear up for the upcoming Euro 5 emission norms. A test unit spotted in the wild has confirmed that the facelifted Ducati Panigale 959 will have several mechanical and cosmetic changes.

The baby Panigale will get the single-sided swingarm, making the bike a more premium offering. Also, the exhaust unit traces its origins to the Ducati Diavel. However, the engine is where the mystery becomes thicker. There is no confirmation whether Ducati will continue with the L-twin layout or move on to a smaller V4! Also, the Italians may increase the engine capacity to help meet the Euro 5 norms.

In its present form, the 955 cc engine is capable of producing 150 PS of power and 102 Nm of torque. Electronic riding aids include traction control, riding modes and engine brake control. A highlight of the braking setup is the M4.32 monobloc callipers up front. The suspension system includes 43 mm upside-down Showa big piston fork which is fully adjustable and a fully adjustable Sachs unit at the rear. Tyres are premium Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa. Expect the updated Ducati Panigale 959 to be priced at around the INR 16 lakh (ex-showroom) mark.

New Ducati Scrambler

Ducati will be unveiling two Scrambler models based on this motorcycle!

A new EPA filing (US Environment Protection Agency) has confirmed that Ducati is preparing two new Scramblers, a Ducati Scrambler 1100 Pro and Ducati Scrambler Sport 1100 Pro. However, what exactly the Italians aiming for is yet to be known.

The powertrain will be the same 1,097 cc air-cooled, L-twin mill. The engine is capable of producing 86 PS of power and 88 Nm of torque. Now put this into perspective, imagine either of these two new bikes to be a bigger and more powerful Desert Sled? That would be a hoot to ride! Also, we would love to see an update to the Scrambler 400 and also an Indian launch for the smallest Scrambler.

New Ducati Monster 821 (facelift)

The iconic Ducati Moster 821 is expected to be unveiled in a facelifted avatar at Ducati World Premiere 2020.

The Ducati Monster 821 was introduced to the world as a replacement of the Monster 796 in 2014. We expect the bike to finally get a much-needed upgrade. However, little is known about the bike, if at all. The fuel tank will continue to sport the iconic design. Add to that, the familiar tubular chassis will be adding to the looks. A perfect example of form meeting function!

The Ducati Monster 821's 821 cc Testastretta, L-twin engine is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox and can produce 109 PS of power and 86 Nm of torque. The facelifted Ducati Monster 821 may get a larger engine displacement as a way to meet the upcoming Euro 5 norms. That’s a technique which its rival KTM 790 Duke is expected to utilise with the upcoming 890 Duke.

Besides these five motorcycles, Ducati will definitely be bringing in several new updates for other models. However, we may not see any update to the Ducati Hypermotard 950 anytime soon.
