Volvo S90 launched in India, priced at INR 53.5 lakh
Deliveries to commence in December.
The Volvo S90 has officially landed in India for a price of INR 53.5 lakh (pre-Octroi, ex-showroom Mumbai). The Volvo S80 successor is an executive luxury saloon that competes with the Audi A6, BMW 5 Series, Jaguar XF and the Mercedes E-Class.
The Volvo S90 measures 4,963 mm in length, 1,879 mm in width (2,019 mm including door mirrors) and 1,443 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 4,963 mm and a ground clearance of 152 mm. The S90 is the longest car in its segment. It is available in only model - D4, and in only one trim level - Inscription. Internationally, though, the flagship saloon is available in five models - D4 (diesel), D5 (diesel), T5, (petrol), T6 (petrol) and T8 (petrol-electric plug-in hybrid).
On the outside, the Volvo S90 features the latest evolution of the Volvo Iron Mark logo and the waterfall grille, along with Thor's Hammer full-LED headlights, puddle lights, 10-spoke, 18-inch Silver/Diamond Cut wheels, boot lid spoiler and twin tailpipes. Four colour choices are available: Magic Blue metallic, Crystal White pearl, Black Black metallic and Mussel Blue metallic.
The distinctive Scandinavian design is seen inside the car too. Power-operated Comfort seats are standard and feature Fine Nappa leather upholstery. The sumptuous Blond in Blond white-themed interior is embellished with Linear Walnut inlays. As for the latest technologies, the S90 is very advanced with features like head-up display, 12-inch driver display, 9-inch Sensus infotainment system with navigation and Apple CarPlay and 19-speaker Premium Sound audio system by Bowers and Wilkins.

The Volvo S90 is powered by a 2.0-litre twin-turbo four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 140 kW (190 hp) at 4,250 rpm and 400 Nm of torque at 1,750-2,500 rpm. Power is sent to the front wheels via the 8-speed Geartronic automatic transmission. Deliveries of the Volvo S90 D4 Inscription will start in December. Sometime next year, the D5 model with the 173 kW (235 hp) 2.0-litre twin-turbo four-cylinder diesel engine will be introduced.
