Would a Suzuki Vitara Sport do for you?

X-Tomi designs has created a rendering of a Suzuki Vitara Sport, taking inspiration from the Suzuki Swift Sport by way of the colour scheme and design changes at the front end.

Suzuki already offers the more powerful Vitara S with the 1.4L turbo petrol engine, and is unlikely to offer anything above this.

The Vitara Sport is painted in the "Champion Yellow" shade which is offered exclusively with the Swift Sport and gets a honeycomb grille, a more pronounced airdam, aggressively styled foglight enclosures, larger alloy wheels and a lowered ride height.

Suzuki has not announced plans for a Vitara Sport. The company already offers a more powerful Vitara S powered by the 1.4-liter turbocharged BoosterJet engine seen on the Swift Sport. This engine makes 140 hp in both vehicles but takes 10.2 seconds to hit 100 km/h in the Vitara S and 8.0 seconds on the Swift Sport. The standard 2019 Vitara petrol offers the smaller three-cylinder 1.0-liter BoosterJet engine.

The 140 hp 1.4-liter BoosterJet is the most powerful future-ready engine Suzuki Cars mass manufactures (the carmaker also makes the 2.4-liter VVT naturally aspirated 163 hp engine for the now aging Grand Vitara, but it is safe to assume this engine will be discontinued with this product), and a more powerful derivative to shave off a few seconds off the Vitara's 0-100 km/h sprint is highly unlikely.

The four-year-old Vitara was given a mild cosmetic update last month, and at this stage in its lifecycle, Maruti is unlikely to launch it in India.

Though the Vitara has been spotted in India, Maruti Suzuki has no plans to launch the SUV which has completed over half its lifecycle. Instead, the next generation Vitara could be developed keeping India as one of the target markets. A recent report also ruled out the Swift Sport for India citing expensive cost structures.
