IAB Report - TVS announces price reduction of Rs 3,500; Yamaha Rs 3,066
Two-wheeler manufacturers TVS Motor and India Yamaha Motor have announced reduction in prices of their models, following the cut in excise duties that was announced last Monday.
TVS has announced that its price reduction would range between Rs 850 and Rs 3,500 on its entire range of two-wheeler and three-wheeler models. The company's vice-president of sales, J Srinivasan, said that TVS has worked out a mechanism to support all of its channel partners through the transition on the existing trade stock (unsold vehicles).
TVS had previously told IAB that the TVS Victor would make a comeback in 2014. TVS will also launch the new 110 cc Star City+ in March or April. The new commuter bike is built on the TVS Phoenix's platform and gets a new 110 cc EcoThrust engine and a fully digital console. The same engine would also power the new TVS Scooty Zest, confirmed to be launched this March or April.
