Yamaha Fazer 250 production to begin by August 2017 - Report
The Yamaha Fazer 250 will carry the quarter-litre mill from the Yamaha FZ 25 in the same tune.
The Yamaha Fazer 250 (Yamaha Fazer 25) is expected to launch in India around the festive season. A report in the Times of India, citing sources, claims that the motorcycle will enter production by August 2017.
Apart from the fairing, the Yamaha Fazer 250 gains new rear view mirrors, a wind deflector over the headlamp and a raised handlebar. The bike is expected to be marketed as a tourer and the fairing, along with the new visor, will help protect the rider from wind blast. The bike retains the LED headlamp console from the Yamaha FZ 25.
The 249 cc air-cooled mill (assisted by an oil-cooler) will be borrowed from the Yamaha FZ 25 and is expected to continue with a 5-speed gearbox. The fuel injected engine is capable of producing 20.9 PS of maximum power and 20 Nm of peak torque. The suspension system and brakes also remain the same. ABS may not be available from the launch day but may be offered later on.

The Yamaha Fazer 250 will weigh slightly more than the Yamaha FZ 25, which has a kerb weight of 148 kg, due to the additional fairing and new handlebar. The naked bike has a price tag of INR 1.20 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) and the Yamaha Fazer 250 is expected to be priced INR 15,000 to INR 20,000 higher.
