Yamaha FZ modified into a Yamaha RX100 by Gear Gear Motorcycles

The Yamaha FZ family at present only retails the fuel injected models.

The Yamaha FZ has been modified by Bengaluru-based Gear Gear Motorcycles. Emerging as a cafe racer, the bike gets several parts resembling the Yamaha RX100.

The Yamaha FZ in stock form is powered by a 153 cc mill capable of producing 14 Ps of maximum power and 13.6 Nm of peak torque.

The modifier has removed several parts for weight saving. The handlebar has been lowered and made rear set and the alloy wheels have been replaced and so have been the hubs. The rims are wider and the knobby tyres add to the rustic look.

The stock Yamaha FZ was powered by a 153 cc single cylinder, air-cooled, SOHC mill coupled to a 5-speed gearbox. The carburetted engine is capable of producing 14 PS of maximum power at 7,500 rpm and 13.6 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm.

The bike is shod over standard telescopic forks up front and a monoshock in the rear. Brakes include a disc brake in the front and a drum unit in the rear. The stock bike tips the scales at 135 kg. The Yamaha FZ cafe racer also gets bar end mirrors, round headlamp, LED tail lamp and a custom seat.

The Yamaha FZ cafe racer has a clear resemblance of the iconic motorcycle Yamaha RX100.

The Yamaha FZ cafe racer also gets new electricals. The Yamaha FZ, before being discontinued, was sold at INR 74,491 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
