Yamaha FZ25 showcased at Colombo Motor Show 2017
Yamaha has showcased its quarter litre naked motorcycle, the Yamaha FZ25, at the 2017 Colombo Motor Show organised from 18th to 20th August.
Yamaha’s authorised distributor in Sri Lanka, Associated Motorways Private Limited, showcased the bike. It employs a 249cc SOHC single cylinder engine with fuel injection. The power plant puts out 20.9 PS of power at 8,000 rpm and 20 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. The engine works in tandem with a 5-speed transmission. The Bluecore technology increases combustion and cooling efficiency, and reduces power loss. Fuel injection helps in easier cold starts, reduced emission and improved throttle input.

The headlamp and tail light are LED units, and the bike comes with a fully digital instrument cluster. The 17-inch alloy wheels roll on 100-section front and 140-section rear tubeless tyres. The fuel tank capacity is 14 litres, and the bike weighs 148 kg, kerb.
Apart from the FZ25, the distributor also showcased the Yamaha Alpha, Yamaha Ray ZR, Yamaha R15 Version 2.0 and Yamaha FZ-16 Version 2.0 and FZ-S Version 2.0.
In India, Yamaha launched the touring iteration of the bike, the Fazer 25 this day. The Fazer gains 6 kg over this motorcycle due to the addition of the fairing. The mechanical underpinnings of the bike are the same as the FZ25.
