Yamaha FZS FI rear disc variant with new colours launched at INR 87,042
India Yamaha Motor has launched the Yamaha FZS FI rear disc variant with two new colour options – Matt Green and Darknight. The new configuration of the Yamaha FZS is priced in India at INR 87,042 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The Yamaha FZS FI rear disc variant was launched in January and was available in only the Armada Blue paint scheme. The two new colour options offer customers a wide range of choices at a minimal premium of INR 1,000.
The Yamaha FZS FI rear disc variant with the new colour options is priced INR 4,000 higher than the single-disc model. The launch of FZS FI rear disc variant comes days before Bajaj Auto launches the Pulsar NS 160 Twin Disc model, which is priced at INR 84,602 (ex-showroom, Navi Mumbai). That said, apart from the addition of a rear disc brake and new paint schemes, the Yamaha FZS FI remains unchanged mechanically.
The Yamaha FZS FI employs a 149 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 2-valve, fuel injected engine that produces 13 bhp of maximum power at 8,000 rpm while developing 12.8 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. This engine is paired with a 5-speed transmission. The motorcycle has a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres and a kerb weight of 133 kg.
The Yamaha FZS FI rear disc model comes equipped with a 282 mm front disc and a 220 mm rear disc. ABS isn’t offered. The motorcycle has a seat height of 790 mm and a wheelbase of 1,330 mm. It offers a ground clearance of 160 mm. The FZS FI rear disc variant features 10-spoke alloy wheels that are shared with the Yamaha FZ25. The bike comes shod with 100/80 R17 front and 140/60 R17 rear MRF Nylogrip Zapper tyres. It has 41 mm telescopic front forks and a preload adjustable mono-shock at the back.

The Yamaha FZS FI range starts at INR 83,042* for the single-disc version and goes all the way up to INR 87,042* for the rear disc model with the new colour options. The FZS FI rivals the TVS Apache RTR 160, Bajaj Pulsar NS 160, Honda X-Blade and the Suzuki Gixxer among others.
