Having crossed 3,000 ordes in less than a month, the 2014 Korando C is enjoying a strong start in its home country.

In order to cater to the encouraging response, Ssangyong has announced that the plant will work even on Saturdays to keep the waiting period from elongating.

The compact 5-seat SUV will be competing with the Hyundai Tuscon and the Kia Sportage. It is to be noted that Mahindra is currently evaluating the Indian market to launch the car. If launched in India, the Korando C would sit above the XUV500.

The facelifted car sports a much improved front fascia complete with a new grille, bumper, HID headlamps and integrated daytime running lights. The overall profile stays intact while the taillights get reprofiled. The interior receives a new centre console, additional equipment and new upholstery options.

The SUV is powered by the same 2.0 litre diesel engine that powered the old car. Available in 149bhp and 175bhp guises, the motor delivers improved fuel efficiency. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual or an automatic gearbox.

The improved aesthetics seem to have worked in favor of the Korando C.
