India-bound 2015 Ford Everest (2015 Ford Endeavour) gets 5-star crash test score - IAB Report

The 2015 Ford Everest, that will launch in India as the 2015 Ford Endeavour late this year or early next year, has received a five-star safety rating, with an overall score of 35.98 out of 37 in the ANCAP (Australasian New Car Assessment Program) crash test.

The Ford Everest gets a frontal offset score of 15.38 out of 16, a side impact score of 16 out of 16, and a pole test score of 2 out of 2, from the ANCAP.

The report concludes that the car, a Ford Everest Trend 4x4 Auto variant with a 3.2-litre five-cylinder turbodiesel engine and weighing 2,370 kg, has acceptable pedestrian protection, and a good whiplash protection. The frontal offset score is 15.38 out of 16, the side impact score is 16.00 out of 16, and the pole test score is 2.0 out of 2.

The ANCAP report says, "the passenger compartment held its shape well in the offset test. Pedal and steering wheel displacements were well controlled. Driver and passenger contact with the airbags was stable. All doors remained closed during the crash. After the crash all doors could be opened with normal effort."
