2015 Suzuki Alto (JDM) caught testing in Delhi - Spied
Offered with three transmission options and two drivelines in Japan.
Twitter user, Mr. Rahul Yadav, snapped the 2015 Suzuki Alto (JDM-spec) on Delhi streets, though a launch in India may not take place. Suzuki's local arm, Maruti, already sells the Alto 800 and the Alto K10 which are the best sellers not only for the manufacturer, but also in the Indian passenger vehicles segment.
Maruti has in the past tested Japan-specific models of the Wagon R, which company sources say is purely for the reason of testing out a new supplier's part, or for internal benchmarking purposes. The new Alto could be testing in India for the very same reasons.
Measuring 3,395 mm in length, 1,475 mm in width, and 1,475-1,500 mm in height (depending on the variant), the new Alto is based on an all-new platform which is lighter by 60 kg over the previous generation JDM Alto.
It is offered with a 0.66-liter three-cylinder petrol engine which develops 48 hp, or 51 hp with VVT (Variable Valve Timing) system. Depending on the transmission (the new Alto can be had with a 5-speed manual, 5-speed AMT or a CVT) and the driveline (2WD or 4WD), the new Alto returns between 25.2 km/l to 37 km/l in the Japanese JC08 test.
