Japan is reportedly receiving an all-new Suzuki Alto this October, a Japanese report said earlier this week. Just months prior to that, the outgoing model will go on sale in Pakistan, as per Automark.

Jdm Spec Suzuki Alto Pakistan
The eighth generation Suzuki Alto was introduced in December 2014 and will go out of production in Japan this year.

According to the site, Pak Suzuki will assemble the JDM-spec Suzuki Alto, which unlike the Maruti Alto, is a Kei car. Local assembly will commence in mid-April, and the launch is expected after Eid-ul-Fitr (4-5 June).

The JDM-spec Suzuki Alto is a Heartect platform product. It measures 3,395 mm in length, 1,475 mm in width and 1,475 mm/1,500 mm in height. It has a 2,460 mm wheelbase. Under the hood, there’s the R06A 0.66-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 49 PS/52 PS (VVT) and 58 Nm/63 Nm (VVT) of torque. 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual are the transmission choices.

The report says that Pak Suzuki will offer both the transmission choices, but doesn’t mention whether it will offer the R06A naturally aspirated engine with the two versions. The engine will come from Japan, while the transmission will get locally assembled.

Pak Suzuki is yet to finalise the pricing of the eighth generation Suzuki Alto, but people in the know of the development have said that the MT configuration will cost around PKR 9,00,000 (INR 4,59,354.38) and the AMT configuration will retail at around PKR 10,00,000 (INR 5,10,393.75).

The Suzuki Alto will replace the Suzuki Mehran, Pakistan’s Maruti 800, which will get discontinued in April.
