No changes to the engine though.
The new 2015 Volvo XC90 R-Design is on display at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show (2015 NAIAS). Based on the second generation of the SUV, the R-Design kit adds a visual and sporty flair to the XC90.
The new XC90 is reported to launch in India by the end of this year, and given that Volvo introduced the R-Design kit on the S60 and XC60 in India, we wouldn't be surprised to see it on the new XC90 as well.
The show car is finished in a matte-blue shade with contrasting aluminium covers for the wing mirrors. Upsized low profile 5-spoke alloy wheels, a full body kit comprising of a front splitter and side skirts, and 'R-Design' badges complete the changes on the outside. Inside, the XC90 R-Design gets sports seats in Nubuck textile and perforated leather.
The XC90 R-Design sees no changes to its engine or performance. It can be had with Volvo's Drive-E range of four-cylinder engines; the R-Design is merely a kit.
Volvo says that it has received over 6,000 orders for the new XC90 globally, since bookings started last year. It will be launched in India this year as a CBU (Completely Built up Unit).
