The new XF is based on the lighter, aluminum-intensive iQ platform.
According to Zigwheels, the 2016 Jaguar XF will launch in India in the second half of this month. It's unclear if the new XF will be launched as a CBU or a locally-assembled model.
The new Jaguar XF features a larger mesh grille, bigger air intakes new LED headlamps with revised LED DRLs and a redesigned bumper. The wheelbase has been extended by 51 mm, now measuring 2,960 mm. The rear-end features XE-inspired LED taillights, a boot-lid spoiler and dual exhaust pipes. Thanks to the new aluminum-intensive iQ platform, the 2016 Jaguar XF is 190 kg lighter than its predecessor.
The interior design combines cues from the entry-level Jaguar XE sedan and the outgoing Jaguar XF. The model showcased at the Auto Expo 2016 featured a regular dual-pod instrument cluster, dual tone tan and black upholstery with silver and wood trim, and an 8.0-inch InControl Touch infotainment display. Top-end variants could get an 828 Watt 17 speaker system by Meridian, 10.2-inch InControl Touch Pro system and a driver's digital instrument display.

The new XF will be available in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol variant is likely to pack the same 2.0L turbocharged four cylinder engine from the Jaguar XE Portfolio, which produces 240 PS, while the diesel variant will be powered by a 2.0L (1,999 cc) four cylinder engine with 180 PS and 430 Nm. The only transmission option is an 8-speed automatic gearbox with steering-mounted paddle shifters as standard.
