To launch for sale early next year.
IAB Reader, Prateek Joshi, has spied the 2017 Chevrolet Beat testing in Pune, ahead of its launch early next year. Only the rear-end of the lightly-wrapped test mule was photographed, although the picture gives a fair idea of what it looks like.
GM India has already revealed the front-end of the next generation Chevrolet Beat, which borrows cues from the more contemporary global-spec Chevrolet Spark. It features a redesigned 2-part grille flanked by large headlamps, chrome embellishers on the grille and inside the headlamps, a cleaner bumper design, updated taillamps and a re-positioned registration plate area.
Spyshots from last month revealed the final interior design and features, which is a big upgrade from the outgoing model. The next-gen Beat has a dual tone beige and black interior with beige fabric seats, a new center console with larger HVAC vents and silver trim, chrome bezel around the HVAC vents and an updated instrument cluster with chrome accents.

New to the Chevrolet Beat is a 7-inch MyLink touchscreen infotainment system, which could be exclusive to the range-topping LTZ grade.
Chevrolet is yet to release engine specs and figures of the next gen Beat, although reports suggest that it will be available with a 1.0L petrol engine and a 1.0L TCDi diesel engine. A 5-speed manual gearbox is likely to be the only transmission option.
Other than the hatchback, the next gen Chevrolet Beat will spawn a crossover and sub-4m sedan called the Chevrolet Beat Activ and Chevrolet Essentia, respectively.
