North American-spec Chevrolet Colorado set to offer more off-road capability.
While the global version of the second-gen Chevrolet Colorado received a facelift this year, the North American-spec second-gen Chevrolet Colorado is about to get a rugged makeover in the coming months. Dubbed 'Chevrolet Colorado ZR2', the off-road variant was recently spied while being tested on public roads, courtesy PickupTrucks.com.
The 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2's test mule may not look all that different from the standard Colorado, but the heavily camouflaged front-end is hiding something unique. The off-road-oriented ZR2 variant has a wider track compared to the standard variant, bigger off-road tires, flared wheel arches, cropped bumper for better approach angle and a large skidplate.
The 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 features Multimatic dynamic suspensions spool valve shocks for better rebound rates, as well as thicker front coils among other possible changes. It also seems to have an increased ride height to amp-up its presence.
