Skoda's best-selling sedan to get its mid-cycle update soon in India.
The 2017 Skoda Octavia has appeared in completely undisguised spy shots in India ahead of its expected Q3 2017 (July-September 2017) launch, courtesy Team-BHP. The new spy shots reveal the exterior and interior of the Indian-spec facelifted Skoda Octavia in detail.
Beginning with the car's styling, the facelifted Skoda Octavia gets a wider and slightly more angular grille flanked by split headlamps featuring full LED lighting, full-width chrome slat on the air dam grille, restyled bumpers and LED tail lights with new graphics. On the inside, the new Skoda Octavia gets a new three-spoke steering wheel and new touchscreen infotainment system in a new glass design. Equipment revisions are also likely for the different grades the car is offered in.
The Skoda Octavia is available with 1.4-litre TSI, 1.8-litre TSI and 2.0-litre TDI engines currently, and that is expected that remain unchanged. The 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol unit develops 110 kW (150 PS) and 250 Nm of torque and sends power to the wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. The 1.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol unit produces 132 kW (180 PS) and 250 Nm of torque and routes power via the 7-speed DSG transmission. The 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel unit delivers 105 kW (143 PS) and 320 Nm of torque and is offered with a 6-speed manual transmission and the 6-speed DSG transmission.

Giving the facelift to the old Skoda Octavia, Skoda India will also introduce the vRS variant to the range. It is available in multiple powertrain configurations, but India will reportedly get this variant with the 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that puts out 169 kW (230 PS) and 350 Nm of torque. Internationally Skoda offers 6-speed manual and 6-speed DSG transmission choices, but it is likely we will get only the latter.
