To launch for sale tomorrow.
Ahead of its confirmed launch on November 3, dealerships have begun receiving early stock of the 2017 Skoda Rapid (facelift), one of which has been spied parked next to the outgoing model. This image was seen circulating on social media.
The exterior changes are primarily limited to the front-end, which looks sharp and inline with Skoda's European models, Fabia and Rapid, sporting a wider ‘butterfly’ grille directly flanked by angular headlamps (projector headlamps and small strip of LED DRLs available), and a cleaner bumper design with new foglamps and wider mesh.
The side profile is a tad cleaner thanks to the relocation of indicator to the side mirror, while the rear profile is modestly different with a new bumper and shark fin antenna.
The interior is also largely unchanged. It has a dual-tone black-and-beige color scheme, with new features like a touchscreen entertainment system with MirrorLink and Bluetooth support, GPS-guided navigation and reverse parking camera.

Under the hood, the diesel variant will pack the updated 1.5L TDI engine sourced from the VW Ameo, which produces a slightly higher 110 PS and 250 Nm of torque. It can be equipped with a 5-speed manual or 7-speed DSG. A petrol variant with a 1.6L four cylinder MPI petrol engine will also be on sale, which is available with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic.
