Changes only made to the hybrid powertrain.

Brochure scans obtained by a Japanese blog on Livedoor reveal that Suzuki is prepping to launch an updated version of the Solio Hybrid and Solio Bandit on November 29. It appears that the updates have only been made to the hybrid powertrain, leaving the exterior and interior intact.

Both the Solio and Bandit retain the 1.2L Dualjet petrol engine that outputs 91 PS and 118 Nm of torque, paired with an MGU (motor generator unit). However, it drops the CVT unit for a 5-speed AGS (AMT) gearbox. Fuel efficiency has also gone up from 27.8 km/L to 32 km/L (JC08 cycle), and can also be driven in full electric mode at low speeds. Power is sent to the front wheels, and there is no option of an AWD.

The exterior and interior is identical to the model currently sold, which was launched over a year ago. The boxy mini MPV measures 3710 mm long, 1625 mm wide and 1745 mm high, and rides on a lightweight platform with TECT structure. The Bandit is a sportier-looking version of the Solio, featuring LED headlamps with separate LED DRLs, clear lens taillights and an aero-inspired bumper.

Prices for the new Solio are expected to increase by 200,000 yen, with the new prices ranging between 1.5 million yen to 2.0 million yen. Maruti Suzuki presented the Solio at the 2012 Auto Expo, but hasn't found the business case to launch it in the country.
