Could feature a new hydroformed chassis.

The 2017 Tata Xenon was spied testing on the Mumbai Pune expressway by Performance Factory, featuring no disguise or camouflage wrapping. It is likely to go on sale in the first half of next year in India as well as export markets like Australia, Thailand and South Africa.

The 2017 Tata Xenon will go on sale sometime next year in India as well as export markets like Australia, Thailand and South Africa.

The model featured is the single-cab variant, which has a slightly revised face that comprises of a body-painted single slat grille with chrome garnish, and a new bumper with redesigned fog lamp enclosures. The only change at the rear is a redesigned cluster for the pair of taillamps. Expect the same changes to be carried over to the double-cab XT model as well.

A report in August last year said that the revisions coming to the Xenon would include a new hydroformed chassis, and it is likely that the mule here is based off it.

Older spyshots have snapped the pick-up's interior, which looks largely identical to the model currently sold, save for the chrome-ringed instrument binnacles housing redesigned dials for the speedometer and tachometer. Top-end variants may feature a Harman audio system.

The Tata Xenon XT facelift could pack the 2.2-liter four-cylinder VariCOR 400 unit which produces 156 PS and 400 Nm in the Safari Storme and Hexa, a slight power bump from the outgoing Xenon XT's 147 PS and 320 Nm output. It could be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard, while an automatic gearbox may be exclusive to export models.
