The latest BMW M5 is the sixth generation of the high-performance luxury executive saloon. The 2018 BMW M5 is 4,965 mm long, 1,903 mm wide and 1,473 mm tall. It has a 2,982 mm wheelbase and a 132 mm ground clearance. Powering the 2018 BMW M5, is a new 4.4-litre M TwinPower Turbo V8 engine. The biturbo petrol mill develops 600 PS from 5,600-6,700 rpm and 750 Nm of torque from 1,800-5,600 rpm. An 8-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic works with the M xDrive AWD system - a first for the BMW M5, for power delivery.

To keep the CLAR platform-based, sixth-gen BMW M5’s weight low, BMW makes its bonnet and front side panels from aluminium, and its roof from carbon-fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP). The 2018 BMW M5 can reach from 0-100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds, and go further to 200 km/h in 11.1 seconds. BMW has limited the top speed to 250 km/h, but the optional M Driver’s package increases it to 305 km/h. M compound brakes are a standard fitment in the all-new BMW M5. M carbon ceramic brakes, which are 23 kg lighter, are available optionally.

The 2018 BMW M5 gets its sporty exterior styling from the aggressive front bumper with large air intakes, double-slat kidney grille, bonnet with M-specific swage lines that are there in the contours of the roof as well, M gills, ORVMs in an M-specific design, 20-inch seven-double-spoke wheels, side skirts, M rear apron and M rear spoiler.

Inside, the all-new BMW M5 features M sports steering wheel, digital instrument cluster in an M-specific design, M-specific head-up display and M Sports (front) seats with electric adjustment, memory function (driver seat-only) heating and an embossed M logo in the head restraints. M multifunction seats in racing-style bucket shape, with integral head restraints, are available optionally.
