Triumph UK has teased the 2018 Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster in a YouTube video. The British brand will launch the motorcycle on October 3 in the country.

The new motorcycle will be based on the Bobber.

Going by the teaser video, the 2018 Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster is likely to be based on the Triumph Bonneville Bobber. But unlike the Bobber, the Speedmaster gets twin seats for added practicality. The rear subframe looks like it has been modified to accommodate the pillion seat. The motorcycle was caught testing in May, this year. The fuel tank features the characteristic Bonneville 3D logo. The handlebars are wide and the footpegs are forward-set, which hint at cruiser-like ergonomics. The round headlamp is likely an LED unit.

Like the Bobber, the 2018 Speedmaster also features slash-cut exhausts.

The engine components and the slash-cut exhausts look akin to the one in the Bobber. The Bobber’s 1,200 cc SOHC, parallel twin mill is capable of producing 77 PS at 6,100 rpm and 106 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The engine pairs with a 6-speed transmission. Expect Triumph to tune the powerplant to suit this cruiser’s character.

When it comes to suspension components, the 2018 Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster employs telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The bike features spoke wheels, and twin discs at the front and a rear disc for anchorage. Expect more details to surface as the launch date nears.
