The next-gen Acura RDX will ride on the same modular platform as the Honda CR-V.

The next-gen Acura RDX will ride on the same modular platform as the Honda CR-V. The platform originates from the tenth-gen Honda Civic and underpins the tenth-gen Honda Accord as well. The current model is powered by a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine. In China, there’s a 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine under the hood. The U.S.-spec version will likely see the 2018 Honda Accord’s 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-four cylinder petrol engine replacing the V6 mill. Additionally, the second-gen i-MMD two-motor hybrid system may find its place in the next-gen Acura RDX.

The all-new Honda CR-V is longer, wider and taller than the model it replaces. The Acura RDX too should grow in dimensions similarly. The current model is 4,685 mm long, 1,872 mm wide and 1,650 mm tall.
